The location is pointing to a network drive or server location

The location needs to be going to the local machine or an external storage device.

If the location is pointing to a server location or network drive TurningPoint needs to be moved to the local drive, or an external storage device like a Flash Drive or External Hard Drive, to function properly.

Running TurningPoint from a server location or network drive is not supported at this time.

The location is pointing to a location on the local disk (C or D drive) or an external storage device (Flash drive or external Hard Drive).

  1. Close TurningPoint and PowerPoint.
  2. Go to C:\Program Files (or Program Files (x86) if using a 64 bit version of Windows)\Turning Technologies\TurningPoint 5\Application and look for Regcom.exe (or just Regcom if the .exe extension is hidden).
(Note: For the No-Install version of TurningPoint 5 running from a Flash Drive or Storage receiver this file is located in the folder where the files were extracted inside of the Application folder)
  3. Right click Regcom.exe and choose Run as Administrator.
This will seemingly do nothing, but this file re-registers the TurningPoint dll files.
  4. Launch TurningPoint again and open PowerPoint Polling.

Does it show “Not Loaded. The user selected to disable Macros”

  1. Click OK to close the COM Add-ins dialog.
  2. Click the File tab inside of PowerPoint.

If the user is not able to uncheck this option they will need to contact their IT Department to uncheck this for TurningPoint to load properly as there is no way to get around this setting.

If security is a concern the Require Application Add-ins to be signed by Trusted Publisher can be selected instead. This will require that the TurningPoint Trusted Publisher certificate be installed.
