Importing a Response Roster into Insight 360

NOTE

These steps were created using Response version 6.71 and Insight 360 version 1.0.

  1. Open Response.
  2. Click Manage My Data.
  3. Click Classes.
  4. Select the class from the Classes window.
  5. Click Export Roster.

    The Export Roster Wizard opens.

  6. Select the file in the File Name field.
  7. Select the export directory from the Export Directory drop-down menu.
  8. Select the By Comma radio button.
  9. Click Export.
  10. A confirmation window appears. Click OK.
  11. Open the exported CSV file in a text editor such as Notepad and delete the first line "//RESPONSE Roster."
  12. Save and close the file.
  13. Open Insight 360.
  14. Click the My Classes tab.
  15. Click the New Class icon.
  16. Enter the necessary class information.
  17. Click the Student Import tab.
  18. Click Start Import.
  19. Select the class and click Next.
  20. Click the ... icon and browse to the location of the exported Response CSV file.
  21. From the Use Predefined Mapping? drop-down menu, select New Mapping.
  22. Click Next.
  23. Select the following from left to right:
    • Not Used (Clicker ID)
    • Not Used (Group ID)
    • Last Name (Last)
    • First Name (First)
    • Middle Name (Middle)
    • Student ID (Student ID)
    • Not Used (Nickname)
    • Not Used (User ID)
    • Not Used (Phone)
    • Not Used (Email)
    • Not Used (Gender)
    • Grade (Grade Level)
    • Not Used (Other)
    • Not Used
  24. Adjust the number of top rows to import from 0 to 1.
  25. Click Next.
  26. Review the roster to verify that the data is correctly mapped. Click Previous to make adjustments or Finish Import to proceed.
  27. Enter Response as the Mapping Name and click the Save Mapping button.
  28. A confirmation window appears. Click OK.
  29. Click My Classes to view the imported roster.
